Steve "12 Fingers Price" - Born in the windy city of Coventry, Steve has been playing guitar now for more than half his life, drawn initially to the instrument upon hearing the sounds of players such as Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Billy Gibbons. From the age of around 14 he heard his first blues record, a John Lee Hooker compilation and was at once drawn into the world of blues and R ‘n’ B, captivated by Hooker’s playing on ‘Crawlin’ King Snake’. More blues records followed, by the likes of BB King, Buddy Guy, Robert Johnson, Magic Sam, Otis Rush, Elmore James etc, and Steve soon set out to play the blues.

He dissected the Bluesbreakers’ ‘Beano’ album featuring Eric Clapton, and knew that he just had to get his grubby mits on a Les Paul guitar, which has been his faithful musical partner for many years now.

Steve spent several years in Midlands-based blues/ rock outfit Red House, which became a regular attraction at the now sadly defunct Coventry Blues Club, and during this time grew as a musician (he is now at least 6 ft tall).

After moving to the South East, he made several attempts to get various bands off the ground, but unfortunately none of these were successful. Steve was becoming increasingly frustrated at the music scene, and was also itching to get back to playing rocking blues music. Then, as luck would have it, he came to audition for a blues/ R ‘n’ B outfit which turned out to be none other than the Rhythm Doctors. He can safely say this is the finest outfit he has ever worked with, and feels privileged to be a member of Kent’s finest blues act. Then just to confuse him we changed the name to The OZ.

All the above is of course a lie, Steve is in the final bits of getting a PHD in Archaeology, so likes to study old worn out ruins, like the rest of the band members?
